The Flava Press Gang

The Flava Press Gang, a group of young journalists aged 11 - 16, meet regularly to develop the website and suggest how we can keep improving so it's the best it can be. Here's what they have to say for themselves:

"Hi, my name is Jamie. I'm 13 years old and I go to Heathcote School. I'm one of the editors of the website. My hobbies include running, drama, music, art, cooking, graphics, skateboarding...and also I like to chill out with all my m8's (that's got to be the best, right?)! The reason why I joined the Flava Press Gang is because I thought it would be a good idea to help make the young people of today have their say in what they want to happen in Waltham Forest, and not to be told what is going to happen. It really bugs me when that happens!"

"Hi there, I'm MDM. I'm 13 and I like music and media. I like to sing in my spare time!"

"My name's Emma. At 16, I'm the oldest of the FPG's and I got involved in all of this because I want to be a journalist. I love swimming, drama and various other stuff (including being in the FPG obviously)! Hope you like the website and don't forget to get involved - it's your borough!"

"My name is Indre. I like skateboarding, art and, like most people my age, I love to hang out with my friends. I decided to do this project becuase I thought it'd be kool to learn new skills and meet new people who, by the way, are awesome :)"

"Hi, my name is Zulaykha and I'm 14. I like to try new things and meet new people with lots of different abilities. Being in the FPG was something new that I wanted to try. I didn't really know what it was going to be like, but now I'm in it, I find it quite interesting. I have interests in all areas and want to write about lots of different things."

"Hi, I'm Amina, one of the two photographers for Forest Flava. My main interests are skating, listening to music, singing, archery, art and drama. I'm unique because I like probably all genres of music around. I joined Forest Flava because I enjoy writing and web design."

"Hello there, I'm Naomi. I have a taste for the strange and the unusual, which I think is a good point (if anyone knows of any 'alternative' things, I'd be happy to hear from them.) I love music, film and, strangely enough, going to the gym. I got involved in the FPG because I figured it would be something new and different, which it is, and I have met some pretty snazzy people along the way. So, have a look around, I think you will find the experience pleasing."

"My name's Jason. I'm 14 and I go to Heathcote School in Chingford. I like to play football and draw."

"My name's Dan. I'm 13 years old and live in Leytonstone, attending Leytonstone Secondary School. I enjoy loads of things, but some of my hobbies include tennis, cricket, gaming, filming, cycling and writing. I joined the Flava Press Gang because it seemed like a good opportunity to learn some new skills and get involved in my local community."

"Hi, my name is Tobias Doyle, but everyone calls me Toby. My interests include football, chess, modelling (sticking pieces of plastic together and painting them) and books."
